Who Are We?
SSLDSG is a non-funded voluntary parent self-help group which provides information and support to parents of children who are experiencing difficulties with learning. The organisation has been helping families in the Sutherland Shire and other areas since 1987.
What Do We Do?
We provide support to families through these activities:
- Telephone Help Line
- Information on local services, education programs, therapists, schools and special needs classes
- Support and advocacy for children and their families
- Quarterly information evenings
- Quarterly newsletter
- Annual Forums and Special Events
- Workshops for parents and children
- An extensive library of books, audio and video tapes focusing on learning difficulties
- Resources for teachers

Mon & Thu 10am until 2pm (during school terms).
Services Directory :
The office is operated by a group of volunteers. These lovely people give their time freely to help familes by answering The Help Line and assisting with administrative tasks, providing resources from our library to our members and general support..
MORE VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED
The office is primarily closed during school holidays - appointments can be made to visit the office during school holidays by leaving a message on the answer phone.
